Today there aren’t anymore wars to fight so the Chinese launch thousands of lanterns to celebrate their New Year. The lantern has become more and more popular all over th Uk and Europe. Since first arriving in the UK in the 1990′s the lantern has literally taken off. The lanterns come in lots of differnet colours and a great range of sizes too. Whatever the occasion is, there is a lantern to suit, like a wedding or a birth. With the more unusual shapes like a soccer ball or a regualr heart shaped lantern for a loved one. For best results you should light your lantern at night to get the best effect. Modern lanterns are designed to have a minimal impact of the enviroment. A minor should not be allowed to light or launch a lit lantern for safety reasons.
