Playing the Drums Fast isn’t the Beginners Goal
August 19th, 2010 by admin
If you’re goal as a beginner drummer is to be able to play quickly then get ready for frustration. When you’re first learning to move your hands and feet differently your brain is going to cross it’s wires a lot and you’re going to have mis hits. This is frustrating, but if you add into that trying to play faster then you should be as a beginner then you’re going to be even more frustrated. If you’ve chosen to learn on your own with a drum lesson dvd or online videos chances are you have access to a click track. Use that click track to practice what ever skills you’re learning slowly and in proper time and then add speed once you master them.
