I Thought I Would Know
December 1st, 2009 by admin
When I first moved into my own house at the age of eighteen years, the first thing I did was purchase a fire extinguisher. I wasn’t a very good cook, and I expected to have a few kitchen fires. However, I had no idea how to use the thing. It looked pretty simple, though, and I figured that I would know when the time came. I couldn’t have been more wrong. The first time my oven caught on fire, I grabbed the extinguisher and tried to squeeze the trigger. It wouldn’t budge! Thankfully, I had a friend there who had taken some fire extinguisher training. He grabbed it from me, pulled the pin, and put out the fire.
