Taking the Hypnosis out of Hypnosis for Weight Loss
October 30th, 2009 by admin
Recently it occurred to me that I should stop talking about hypnosis for weight loss – even though it has been fantastic for me and I am almost evangelical about good it is – because nearly everyone I speak to gets a bit freaked out by the word ‘hypnosis’. I must have been brought up in an alternative therapy friendly household or something as the idea of controlling my own thoughts doesn’t concern me at all, but it seems to really bother others. Hypnosis is really just a process of getting yourself (or working with a hypnotherapist if you want to) in a relaxed state and articulating or listening to specific statements of values and beliefs that you want to have when you are in your ‘fully alert’ state. That’s why weight loss hypnosis is so great – I get to have all the motivation I need with none of the willpower battles. I just don’t get why others won’t try it.
