The Wood Guide

My father was a construction foreman, all his staff called him the wood guide. Although he was usually in his little trailer office on-site, he would have much preferred to be building something, especially with wood. He had a passion for all things wood. I don’t recall ever buying anything made out of wood because he usually made it himself. He used to say that something really well made with a good piece of wood allows the tree to live on. For some, it’s just a natural resource, but for my father it was a life long passion. The wood guide now has been passed to me, I think I’ll spend a few more hours in my little shop stocked with his antique tools.
