Homeowner Installing Covers so He Won’t Have to Spend Another Saturday Cleaning the Gutters

Today was the last straw! I had to spend my Saturday afternoon cleaning leaves out of the rain gutters. Earlier in the week we experienced two days of heavy rain. That is when we discovered our gutters were obstructed with leaves and twigs, causing the rain to overflow and run down the sides of the house. For the first time since our house was built, our basement had water seeping into it. My wife was not at all pleased about that, so I promised her I would see what the problem was. Well, the problem was leaves clogging the gutters and preventing the rain from running to the downspouts and draining properly. Now that the gutters are clean, I am going to install gutter covers to prevent this from happening again.
