Clocks are one of the oldest man mad inventions
March 30th, 2010 by admin
Clocks are one of the oldest man mad inventions. The chinese designed an astronomical clock that dated back to 1088. In Europe, these types of clocks were made from 1348 to 1364. None of these clocks can be found and are nonexistent but designs and detailed descriptions can be found and reproductions of them are made. A famous constructor of these type of clocks from Europe is Richard of Wallingford. His clock contained a large astrolabe-type dial. This type of dial shows the sun, the moon’s age, phase, and node, a star map, and possibly the planets. It also contained the state of tide at the London Bridge.
