January 30th, 2010 by admin
October is a busy month for Lima, Peru. Visitors to Lima have the opportunity to witness firsthand, The Festival of the Lord of Miracles (Senor de los Milagros) and the beginning of bullfighting season. The celebration for Lima’s patron saint, the Lord of Miracles includes multiple street parades. During these parades, a life-size replica of Jesus is carried on an altar. Throngs of participants garbed in purple robes who sing while music is played and incense is burned follow the altar. October also hails the first bullfight of the year and the most experienced bullfighters flock to Lima, Peru for their chance to win the Escapulario de Oro, which is a gold epaulet. The festivities take place in the Plaza de Acho ring. This event is clearly for bullfight enthusiasts.
